If you are seeing the message, “NO SERVICE” on your phone’s display, your phone has lost connectivity to the internet and cannot make or receive calls. But dont worry, you can fix this issue immediately. All you need to do is locate your internet router and internet modem and power cycle both of them. Simply unplug each device and wait about 30 seconds and then plug in each of them (it doesn’t matter which order you unplug or plug them back in). In about 3-5 minutes your phones will be back online and making and receiving calls again!
One last note, sometimes the phone will just have a bug where it does not perform the way it used to. For example, you can no longer park a call or pull a call from park, or you may try to answer a ringing call to a group and it no longer allows you to answer. Sometimes Murphy’s law is in effect! LOL… never fear, we can fix this. As a last resort, we can always have you factory reset the phone. While the phone handset is in the cradle, press and hold down the “OK” button near the navigation arrows for about 8 seconds. Then a message will pop up, “Factory reset this phone”, simply click the OK button again. This will reset the phone back to the original settings and clear out any bugs that may have snuck in there. This takes approximately 3-4 minutes to complete to be patient while it reboots and does its thing!
In the menu above (our site – www.ds1phonesystems.com) click on the button PORTAL LOGIN in the upper right hand corner. Then when that launches our phone portal (pbx.ds1phonesystems.com) right underneath the login box, click on the link that says: “ARE YOU A NEW USER ? “. click it and then put in your email address to have a link sent to your email address to reset your password.
This is most likely caused by one thing, Time Frames. When you create a company greeing under the button “auto attendant’ it is very important that you choose the “Default” timeframe and do not choose any other time frame in the drop down menu. If you do choose anything except “default’ timeframe you will get this issue cropping up. However, you cannot just change the timeframe back to default, you must delete the entire auto atterndant you have created and start over again. Not to worry, it should only take a few minutes to copy over your company greeting to a clipboard and repaste it with the new auto attendant you create.
Voice over IP (VOIP) is quite simply using your internet connection to make phone calls. Traditional phone lines have gone away years ago and every kind of communication is using the internet to make a receive phone calls.
